While we were on camp in Dunedin we went to the Otago university Aquarium. Were Josie and Steve showed us around we got to touch and see all these different things such as star Fish, Sea Anemones, Crabs, Fish, Coral, Sea Slugs and and sea cucumbers. We also went in a submarine we went to the very bottom of the sea and saw lots of different creatures. But the most memorable moment was dissecting the Spiky Dog Shark. Crazy Steve decided that it would be funny to freak all of us out by biting the Sharks skin to show us how strong the skin was. It was good to try something different even though not everyone wanted to do that. We all had lots of fun and if we had the opportunity to go back we would!

South Spell2014
South Spell 2014
12 students from Room 12 were selected to go to the South Spell competition. We were spilt into 3 different groups of 4. There was 42 groups overall. The spelling test was divided into 10 different categories. We were supplied with a Mitre 10 pen, some scrap paper so we didn't shout out the answer and a piece of paper to write the right answer on. Just about every parent that came offered their vehicle. We had a blast working together as a group. We were spilt apart when we got to the desks so we couldn't cheat (although we wouldn't!!). We were about a metre away from the next group of kids. The names of the people who got through to South Spell are: Lydia, Rosie, Thomas, Connor, Jessica, Esther, Tessa, Emmerson, Luke, Samantha, Lindsay, Jake. We think it's a great opportunity and everyone should try and aim to get through to South Spell.
A huge thanks to everyone who helped us.
By Lydia and Rosie.

Rap - Unzel
On
the 9th of June 2014 NZ Playhouse came to present a show to Te Anau
School called Rap-Unzel. This was the
same company who performed The Big Sad Wolf last year. It followed the story of Rapunzel but they
used New Zealand’s got talent and turned it into Far Far Aways got talent to
make it fun. There were three 21 year olds that performed for us 2 boys and 1
girl. They had to audition to get the part they wanted. Simon Cow was one of
the character’s names. We think he was
the funniest.
